    Making Lunch

As i sit in my chair, I can see
This little girl working so delegently.
I watched as she counted each zip bag,
Trying to remember wbat she had.
So carefully she laid each item out,
As she declared each one out loud.
What is this little girl doing i say.
Why! packing her lunch for school the next day.
This child so precious to me,
My granddaughter Simon, is the little girl I see.

Wrote for my seven year old grandaughter

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
