    Lovers and Warriors

They say that lovers and fighters both exist.
I believe this statement to be completely true.
    For any man,
    good or evil,
to say that both apply to him,
is a difficult task for one to really do.

To dabble in both, and be really neither,
I can see that being done without trouble.
However to master each in harmony with one another,
    That seems quite impossible.

A true warrior feeds off his aggression.
With a passion for pain and a true love for combat.
His true happiness and sought after treasure,
lie within victory and triumph over another.
These men are a danger to all of their foes,
and sometimes to kind faces they may even oppose.
With values as these, they can't truly love.
For that would open one to a weakness,
and their is no weakness written in the warriors code.

When one loves it is a beautiful thing.
They share their heart and sole.
The full love they give is literally themselves,
And a true lover gives it willingly as a whole.
Sovereignty is lost, for all lovers involved,
They often form one heart, one mind,
with this true love they behold.
No harm is done by people like this,
    They live peacefully together
    forever,
    they shall co exists.

Their are evils however, that threaten the lover.
With no will to do harm, it raises alarm.
How can these wondrous soles expect to survive,
In an unfortunate world where truth is not so kind as they.

If all did love, it would be nice.
    However evil exists,
So a world of lovers will not suffice.
Good men give up love for a different art,
It is not as vile as hate, but far from the kindness of love
Softness they shall sedate, so they can fully protect,
    love.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
