Love unrealized

As kids we were friends... Neither of us knowing or life was going to take us. Sometimes we argued, sometimes we fought, sometimes we laughed, but we were always friends. As the days went by and time drew us apart... You stayed in my mind and you stayed in my heart. Days, weeks, months, and even many years passed. We lost touch for a while then for a short time we reconnected. Then time went by and drew apart once more, But fate played its cards. Both taking different paths now living our lives. Fate brought us back who are we really should have always been. And now that I have you back in my life I'm afraid to lose you and you know this is right.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
