love stammers

my heart bleeds

and tells a story in silence

knowing no one would understand execpt you.

And yet you,i can not tell.

my eyes look

and tell into a distant sadness

knowing no one can see it,not even you this time.

my mouth speaks

in a language known to no one

knowing the words would never come out right

my ears listen

to words i only hear in my dreams

knowing i may never hear you say them

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
