    love at dusk

Here I sit alone at this lively time at dusk,

where I contemplate...to the boundaries of the globe I send u my trust,

birds wheel and dance as nature now paints her sky,

I now long for u as your presence awakens my soul to fly.

The treasure would be to coax time to stop and hold her note,

for in this magic hour I would whisper the words "on you I dote",

remember that love over distance never withers nor wanes,

as my feelings deepen like shades of the night this ardour I cannot feign.

Birds and all God's creatures quieten yourself now,

for this my heart's sacred and truest vow,

In your heart my joyous and golden smile lives,

and to your soul my voice and dreams I now give.

Remember that love over time never dims nor dies,

as my feelings deepen like shades of the night this soul sighs as the moment is nigh.

Nice....I sense your missing a love that you can not touch.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
