    Looking Back

Growing up in my small town
where people joked and played around.

    Friends, foes, even family
we played together oh! so happily.

    Kids of fun and curiousity.
    We sometimes fought periodically.

But that was apart of growing up fast.
And all of thoses memories built to last?
It's all just now my childhood past.

Now that adulthood is finally here.
The people who once was near and dear.
Has all of a sudden disappeared.

Some got lost, and some got found.
    Some still sometimes come around.
Some in prison, some have passed,
some are homeless and sleeping in trash.

    And some got married.
With children and hopes of legacies
    carried.

But now that i'm wiser, much stronger,
    much older.
I'll do everything right and make my decisions
    much bolder.

    In every life situation.
You may or may not meet expectation.

But everything i hoped to be.
Will someday rise for me to see.

The cards my life will deal and give.
only the lord will decide which life i'll live.
