    LONGING TO BE LOVED

    I'M LONGING TO BE LOVED
IT MAKES ME WANT TO CRY
    I'M LONGING TO BE LOVED
    LET ME TELL YOU WHY

SO MANY MEN COME PASSING ME BY
    LOOKING ONLY AT THE OUTSIDE
    THINKING I'M SO FLY
BUT ONCE THEY SEE THE INSIDE
    THEY SIMPLY SAY GOOD BYE

THEY WERE NOT EXPECTING A WOMAN
WHO WAS WISE BEYOND HER AGE
    THEY ONLY WANTED SOMEONE
WHO THEY THOUGHT THAT THEY COULD PLAY

    I'M LONGING TO BE LOVED
WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?
    I'M LONGING TO BE LOVED
BUT I WON'T PLAY THE FOOL

IT'S NOT THAT THEY DON'T WANT ME
THEY ALL TELL ME I AM PRETTY
IT'S JUST THEY WERE NOT EXPECTING
A WOMAN SO SMART AND WITTY

SOMETIME I WISH I WASN'T THE WOMAN THAT I AM
    SOMETIMES I WISH I JUST DIDN'T GIVE A DAMN
    I'M LONGING TO BE LOVED
I CAN HARDLY STAND THE PAIN
    I'M LONGING TO BE LOVED
IS IT REALLY ALL IN VAIN?

    I PRAY ONE DAY SOON
THAT MY PRINCE CHARMING WILL ARRIVE
AND HE WILL SAY THOSE SAME WORDS
THE ONES THAT MADE ME CRY

    I'M LONGING TO BE LOVED
WITH YOU I'VE FOUND MY WAY
    I'M LONGING TO BE LOVED
WON'T YOU PLEASE LET ME STAY?

    QUILL WOMAN ZAPATA

Believe me, I completely understand exactly how you feel...I feel your pain....I share your pain.

Well said. I relate with this piece. Once people see how "un-normal" i am they seem to run and point fingers. Hell with em'. Best of luck to you. Peace

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
