Life without you
The day you left meI thought i would die
the manner in which it was done
was the thing that made me cry
the months following after
were filled with unbearable pain
and when i thought back on happier times
all i remember was the shame.
My life then began without you
no matter how much i willed it to be different
the lies that you told me
were the thing that shattered my heart.
Living without you seemed an impossible feat
but after a while i realised
that all you did was cause my eyes to seep
tears of pain.
Now i know that i can do so much damn better
as in someone who truly loves me
and shows me the respect i deserve.
