Left in a breath
I can barely hold on to these hopes and dreams
as I watch them quickly become faded memories
and I remember the last words that you said to me
they were left in a breath inside my head as I read the letter you wrote to me
I tried so hard to hold each word
as they spoke for me
now my heart bleeds the blood that yours poured for me
Because of you I stayed afloat inside this torrid sea
ripped me free from poor beliefs
I remember how hard it was for me to carry the weight of the casket, the same, but aint the same weight felt by my dad.so ,there my past is.
two stones ,I sat alone with my last cig'
that I lit with a matchstick
took a drag then past him the last hit
and that's why you'll see ashes clinging to each grass clip providing shade,a Masons plate engraved your name, staking claim your grave
I sit and wait 'till that torrid sea washes over me.
