    Lantern of Hope

A black dark place my heart used to be
Abused and torn as a child
    Lonely and crying into womanhood
    Until you
A lantern of hope and love
Arrived through the guidance of God
You cleaned off the dark dust of hatred and misery
Lovingly polished until the sadness and tears
    Turned into rainbows and ribbons
A bright and happy heart I now have
    My lantern of hope
    My husband
    My friend

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
