    L-O-V-E

This is it, the leap I'm supposed to hit.
My legs never seeming to be able to part enough to make it all the way.
The jittering of my knees as I come up to this step again.
Looking all the way down, I'm too scared to go now.
One by one I watch them take their lives into the palms of their hands.
If only mine weren't so feeble maybe I could do the same.
Watch as I place my very soul into this little gift wrapped box and hand it over to you in hopes of not being returned.
Returned into pieces of what was once whole.
You rise as I fall like the sun to the moon.
My breaths are endless, this I know to be true.
Wanting so desperately to reach out and grasp onto your hands in hopes of being rescued.
A part of me too hesitant to call for assistance.
Far too afraid to let go of the steady ground that I know.
Tick, tick, the clock is winding.
Winding to the day that those three words passed through your lips.
My eyes searching for a lie that may have slipped through.
    Nothing seeming to be true.
Looking down once more, your hand still reaching onward.
Hand in yours, I leap forward.
