    Just Because

    JUST BECAUSE

    Just because I loved you

    doesn't give you any right

to tear away the hope and dreams

that I had held on to so tight

Just because I waited for you

    with every baited breath

    doesn't mean you can destroy

every dream that I had left

Just because I was always there

when you called on the phone

    doesn't mean it was ok

    to leave me all alone

Just because I got so tired

    of hearing all the lies

you took it all for granted

    now theres nothing but goodbye

    Just because I gave you

    everything inside I had

did not give you all the reasons

    for treating me so bad

Even tho you were my world

    I took time to pause

I remembered all the hurt you gave

and I left you just because........................................

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
