JUST A MATTER OF TIME

Stop walking around as if everything is fine and dandy

Talking jive, smoking dope, having sex, listen to rap all day

Bring about death and destruction like little kids with candy

Pay no attention to what your parents or grandparents say

Do you consider breaking the law and going to jail, a life?

When you go to school, you do not care if you fail or pass

You want “gangsta rap,” women, fast money, a gun or knife

For a while the police just watch and let you have a real blast

What we are doing is eliminating us as a race is not hard to see

Too, busy trying to hurt, kill and take advantage of one another

On television, nearly everyone negative looks like you and me

While others get ahead, behind we are falling farther and farther

No future in the ghettos, if all we do is nothing but merely exist

We have the capabilities of turning ghettos into neighborhoods

Come together and any attempt to destroy us, we can truly resist

Instead of always buying, we can make and sell our own goods

Safer to own your car than going out and highjack someone’s

In spite of what you might think, life really is a wonderful thing

It is stupid to say, “time ain’t nothing but a thing, I can do tons”

You do time and real shame and pain to your family you bring

Hold your heads up, take pride in yourselves and win this war

Make people look at you with respect and not like, you’re slime

An education young people, is the only thing you should score

Pull together and you can succeed, “In Just A Matter Of Time”
