    Incandescence Drips

    Incandescence drips
    a tinder saline
    flame. Damp, and
    coal-storm black.

    Immersion inferno,
    once submerged,
    emerges from
    glowing fjord to

    luminous cascades
    of glacial spark
    kept at burning bay
    by boiling smoke in

    a burnt brook’s bright
    spring light and
    frosty blaze; soul’s
    inlet of combustion where

    incandescence drips
    a tinder saline
    flame. Damp, and
    coal-storm black.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
