    I'm Sick Of It

I'm sick of all the crap
That you have put me through
    And all of the things
That has caused me to become blue
Like the color of the water
    In the ocean
But I've swam too far to drown
    Beneath all of your commotion
I'm sick of all the lies
Sick of you hiding behind the truth
    You break off too easily
Like the first bite of a Babe Ruth
I'm sick of your harsh words
They are as cold as the winds of winter
    You are way too soft
Like a pop tart in the center
    I'm sick of you always
    Comparing me to other guys
    Am I better than them?
Ha! I can think of a million reasons why
    I'm sick of you always
    Picking a f****** fight
And saying things to instigate me
    Every single f****** night
    I'm sick of you always
    Putting me through the ringer
    Which is pretty similar
To poop coming out of a sphincter
    I'm sick of it all
But it's all worth it in the end
Because it has molded me into the person that I am today
And I thank the angel that was sent

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
