I went over the cuckoo's nest
When he left
I went over
the cuckoo’s nest
all because I could
not bear the
feeling of being
grounded
I wanted to see from
a birdie’s eye
what was the mistake
we made when we
were there
down on the ground
I wore a blindfold then
perhaps, cause I missed
where we were starting
to fall apart
I missed the part
where he no longer
wanted me in his heart
So now you can expect
I feel betrayed
that he left without reason
without sharing his plans
I feel like escaping-
like flying
cause I can’t deal with
the anger I feel
here, at ground level
I don’t want to hate
The only man I ever
loved
and being grounded will make
me resent him
and be alone
So I’ll fly away
And I’ve flown
I’m still flying
I just soared high above
that cuckoo’s nest
and I’m laughing heartily
and I’m weeping
cause I miss him
but whatever it takes
I’ll be with him
soon again
I went over
the cuckoo’s nest
all because I could
not bear the
feeling of being
grounded
I wanted to see from
a birdie’s eye
what was the mistake
we made when we
were there
down on the ground
I wore a blindfold then
perhaps, cause I missed
where we were starting
to fall apart
I missed the part
where he no longer
wanted me in his heart
So now you can expect
I feel betrayed
that he left without reason
without sharing his plans
I feel like escaping-
like flying
cause I can’t deal with
the anger I feel
here, at ground level
I don’t want to hate
The only man I ever
loved
and being grounded will make
me resent him
and be alone
So I’ll fly away
And I’ve flown
I’m still flying
I just soared high above
that cuckoo’s nest
and I’m laughing heartily
and I’m weeping
cause I miss him
but whatever it takes
I’ll be with him
soon again
