I cry 4 me every time I gave myself to male that didn’t deserve me
I cry 4 me every time you called me names that stripped and hurt me
I cry 4 me when my bills were due but no money was there
Because I gave to you for food, gas and even to cut your hair

I cry 4 me, cause I didn’t know that true love, was not suppose to hurt
I cry 4 me cause you only picked me up on the days, I got paid from work
I cry 4 me cause I fake smiles to compliment my frame
Not knowing at night, before I sleep I cry floods to make sense of the pain

I cry 4 me, cause I didn’t love the love inside of me
And appreciate the my worth and beauty that my friends and family see

But, I don’t cry 4 me anymore, my tear ducts they have dried
I just trust that my prayers and good deeds I do in life will get me by

I stand up tall, take a breathe and lift my face to the sun
Cause I now realize that just because I’ve cried, doesn’t mean that you’ve won
