HOPE

How do I touch your feeling
When you are at a distance?

How do I see you
When a veil disengages our eyes?

How do I hear you
When a mountain is between us?

How do I walk to you
When my nerves have no root?

How can I hold your hand
When I left mine in sand?

How can I talk to you
When my tongue does not move?

Accident reminds me day and night
Brighter becomes the light of my life.

Don’t ever despair my dear
The beat of my heart is here.

A new chapter will begin in our souls
Destiny cannot take us without roles.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
