Poem Commentary

I write this because I to was Homeless where the world we live in has forgotten love unconditionally,
where we are judge for many things, not everybody that is homeless is on drugs, some have lost familly to deaths or accidents.  others its just they don't meet the worlds standards, in work, what I mean if your to old there is not a job for you.
some didn't finish school, and some are addicted to alcohol and drugs to live day to day. they have lost their self esteem. and can see know way out.

they are afraid of rejection,

Homeless

Many times I look around,
and I see the sadness that is abound,
they push their carts with empty hearts
thier laughter is covered by tears.
Knowing how the world views them.
Judging them without a clue,
They are children of the Lost,
Without hope and with out fear,
they survive on instinct, and not emotions
For every night their life changes.
For a moment they become invisible.
to all the seeing eyes,
they cry in the desert where no one can hear.
under a cardboard box in the weeds, is what they call
home. a house that they only see.
Your hope for change is there destiny,
you see I have lived this life I am talking about,
I am somebodys Mother, Sister, grandmother or aunt,
And it starts from your heart,
they desire to part of.
LOVE UNCONDITIONAL IS WHAT THEY REQUIRE.

Where I am from the state hospitals decided to evict the schitzofrenics and no one was there to care for them... we are all our brothers' keepers. A case beautifully made. mlea

i saw this title in the random poem list and it perked my interest to see what it was about... a very good write, and i understand where you're coming from... sometime, when you get time, swing by my page and read my version of this story... it's called..... cardboard city.... i think you might find a few parallels.... great write on an all too often, swept under the social headlines, subject....

Poetry is what is lost in translation.
