    Poem Commentary

I wrote this because of my nephew. We lost my sister, his mother when he was just 7 years old.

    Holding On

Every time I look at him I see your face. He looks so lost so all alone, completely out of place.

I don't know what to do for him, I hear him cry at night. I put my arms around him and tell him it's alright, thats a lie and we both know it but still we hold on tight.

He takes comfort in my arms, he knows I'm always there but i'm not his mom i'll never be, but my love we'll always share.

I wish that I could just erase the sadness from his eyes, take the pain and lonliness and quiet all his cries.

I know in time he will understand and things will be okay, God give us strength and courage and we'll hold on until that day.
