    Hold Your Breath

Don't you feel like you're just ripping out my heart?
Taking everything I've got now that I've played my part
We're crying ourselves to sleep at night
We're killing one another just to stay alive

    Cos you say,
    You say -

Don't look back when I'm taking you forward
You can close your eyes if your vision’s blurred
Cos you will take what you're offered
All your sons will be soldiered

Cos we fight the fight we don't believe in
We die the deaths to keep your hands clean
But from the ashes we will rise
From the clouds we shield the skies

We've listened too long to your lies
So grab your gun it's time too -

    Lock your doors now
    Arm your guards now
Close your eyes and hold your breath
Don't look down and take a step
Cos now it's time to pay
    For all of your mistakes

Don't you feel like you're stepping on my dreams?
You always say things aren't what they seem
It's too late now for us to see
What you meant for us to be

    Cos you say
    You say
Don't look back when I'm taking you forward
You can close your eyes if your visions are blurred

Cos you will take what you're offered
All your sons will be soldiered
Cos we fight the fight we don't believe in
We die the deaths to keep your hands clean

We plot the path to your demise
We will take the mask from your disguise
So grab your gun its time too...

    Lock your doors now
    Arm your guards now
Close your eyes and hold your breath
Don't look down and take a step
Cos now it's time to pay
    For all of your mistakes

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
