~HER ROCKING CHAIR~

~HER ROCKING CHAIR~

She sits alone in the rocking chair,
assembled with her dollys there;
No one sees, the love she needs,
or do they just not care?
~
Clinging to her torn blankie,
she gently rocks and softly sings;
Passing her door, they all ignore,
the joy this child does bring.
~
All her life she's been abused,
mistreated and too often used;
She's only three, yet she believes,
that all they say's the truth.
~
And now the time has come again,
when they will try to be her friend;
The things they'll do, will turn into,
a nightmare 'til the end.
~
When they leave her all alone,
she'll tremble in the cold;
She'll sit and cry, and want to die,
this child who's three years old.

Nice write Jeff, a bit on the sad side thoughI liked it ..Inkmaster

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
