Hell Of A Summer, I Had

Hell of a...
summer...

Shook many hands,
absorbing the germs and friendships/
Built enough relationships to power a space-ship/
Threw plastic/
into plastic/
And when they did the same,
Guess who drank it/

Hell of a...
Summer...

Sat in many cars,
Headed toward beaches - hazy bars/
Spent so much money could have given Greece a spark/
Bacardi and Vodka/
Jaëger was water/
Explaining but only a part/
Champagne my heart/

Hell of a...
Summer...

Most likely is foreseen,
That a lady came in my direction/
Infiltrated my mind as if lethal infection//
Whole became fraction//
As if by disection/
Better yet bi-section/
Rose up through high tension/
She balanced my beams with suspension/

It was a...
Hell of a summer,
I had

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
