He Stood Alone

He stood alone

He stood alone to gaze through time.
He was searching thoughts that would not pass him by.
The world he made was now a mountain to climb.
He thought, “Where is truth, and why must it hide?

I have seen rejection spawn with no reason or hate.
Young grow in old opinions without ambition to change or live.
Should we continue to blame others for a past mistake?
Have we forgotten the lessons that teach us to forgive?

Can truth hold justice for all men to see?
Or do men hold justice with truth as a tear?
What document must we write, what letter, or decree?
Have our lives been torn from what we hold dear?

This answer I seek so I will not fall.
Am I also one to justify this crime?
We should all stand together to answer this call!”
He thought, “we must all stand alone to answer; in time.”
