    He Is Always There

Father, you have spared my life time and time again,

I could count on you, when I couldn't count my closest friend.

When all of my friends were gone, and I was lonely,

You were there to say "You still have a friend in me."

When times were hard, and I was going through,

You told me to just have faith and put my trust in you.

You always make a way out of no way,

You continuely bless me day after day.

Why you have so much mercy on me,

    That's something I can't even see.

Because I don't live in a way that's pleasing to you,

I don't even attend church like I need to.

I want to thank you for having mercy on me,

Because without you I don't know were I would be.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
