HARD TIMES
Everyday I wake upAnd most people go to work.
Greeting customers each day;
Letting them know things will be okay.
What you need most is pretty hard to get -
with coupons, discounts, customer appreciation,
You are barely getting by.
It hurts but brings you an inch of happiness
When people smile, just to say Hi.
Though, doing your best, you lie and say you're alright.
Deep down inside all you want to do is cry.
Once you get home you look at your family with your
head hung low.
They are the only reason you try to keep your composure-
and never tell them no.
Smile and say dinner's allmost done, with chicken beans and bread.
It's enough to get them full, but you're glad they're fed.
It cost you what was hustled for today,
but glad it's done.
Come tomorrow is another day
and you're about to have a son.
