    Greek Myth, Today’s Reality

Riding across the sky on Pegasus, creating stars and forming worlds,

Embracing the light of the creation of love, fire soothing the once bitter cold,

I am Hercules, stronger than one thousand body builders on steroids, but, yet I am Achilles bold and vulnerable in a spot not readily seen.

My heel is my heart, open to receive and give that creation, soothing once, scorching the next, lighting the way to possible darkness.

My trusty steed and I facing titans at every turn, sometimes only to learn, the thought titans are our friends and vice versa, this being the curse of trying to grow into a true hero, from zero, or what was thought to be the mirror’s reflection.

Since I love mythology I think this is great I watched Troy one day and wondered why Achilles never thought to protect his heels with steel or iron plates. sounds silly I know but still I wonder. You brought mythology to life,so many have never heard od Pegasus,Achilles or Hercules. Why don't we make our children(I'm speaking of the earth village) read more? Now I must go research the Titans. I know so little of them, this was great a really enjoyable piece.

I'm glad you enjoyed the poem. Achilles would not have worn metal on his feet or any flexible part of his body, because he had to be agile, and wait would have slown him down.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
