goodbye
Softly your name rings in my ear,Pain strikes my heart.
Things have changed and so have you,
Our time together seems shorter.
Yet leaves me wanting more.
Laughter seems to pain me,
I fake the happiness at times.
But the fake happiness I hope is only mine.
As long as a smile remains on your face,
I will continue to go on as I must.
But my pain comes from self inflection.
I never said the things I should,
revealing how I felt and what you
meant to me.
It seems the approaching darkness
has covered me
Consumed by it enough to stay away.
Hidden in the dark are my feelings for you,
Never will they see the light.
Pain that would be inflected by them,
will never be felt in side you.
This is why I must turn to
my heart and tell it goodbye.
