Gone Girl
"You think it's da way you switch yo' hips dat make dem nigga's over der act so sick? "You think it's da way you curl yo' hair dat make dem nigga's over der stop and stare?"
I remember ol' girl from around da way, "Yeah up on 78th dat's where we use ta stay. My brother use da hang wit yo' brother and dat's how we came to know each other, I was so quick to learn yo' ways and what I thought you was about. You was a lot older than me and soon to follow, I'd learn yo' route.
My momma, not like yo' momma she use to fuss and shout, "Girl close yo' legs, heifer watch yo' mouth!"A lesson was to be learned inside my hosue.
Years later I started to realize and even thou da people use ta talk, I knew...dey was always laughin and pointin at you, talkin bout' what you did and the guys you knew...sitting on da porch momma and hah crew.
"Ummm Hmm, her she come naw, switchin dem hips and lickin dem lips..."Gone Girl do yo' thang!" Dat's what da boys on my block would sang.
My momma use ta say; "She a sight to see but a story to tell, what hah life is like livin in hell?" Mrs. Jameson said; "You gone end up a prostitute or dead."
That's when I thought back to dat night and what you had said. "I'm gone be a supastar, I'm gone be famous, you gone see my name."
Along with that life came frustration and anguish; you never became a supastar but yo' name, it became famous.
PROSTITUTE FOUND SLAINED
Lashonda Berniece Watson
I remember yo' name, reading bout it in da paper such a shame, such a shame...
As I think back, now I realize how hard this life can be, Drug pushing, prostituting, who would have thought it would be me?
Now I sing dat same song, walkin donw dat same street...
"Gone Girl do yo' thang, cause I'm doin mine for me!"
