God Sent Dogs

by John Sparacio

dogs do not recognize race,

nor gender

nor sin,

are there for us

without judgment

so too is God,

dog is God spelled backwards.

dogs feel our pain

so does God,

God sent dogs

to fill a void

that he knew

humans would create

amongst each other,

within love

and without.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
