    Get Away

    Get away as they say
    It musn't wait another day
Nor will I stall nor will I delay

    Time has now come
    and my vacation has become,
something so neccessary and had to be done.

Alone shall I go no tears will I show
    The away is unknown
    As I flee all alone.

    The palace now awaits
As i arrive at the gates
I get in the door to a man holding a plate

With my glass of wine, I start to unwind
Then to my surprise I am held from behind
By a man there to guide me, and oh yes he was fine.

To the back of the palace I stroll in surprise
Of how absolutley beautiful I've seen with my own eyes
A beach with white sand, I touched with my hand
All I smelt was fresh air and water so clear.

I look up in the sky and again to my surprise
A flag says "Welcome Schronda" attached to the plane that flies high

Head up to my room it was big and romantic
Realising I was alone almost put me in a panic
My tour guide said "No worries I'm in the next room"
I just said "ok tonight I'll just look at the moon"

Sensitive me, a tear starts to fall
Realizing this could be my life after all.

Heck, I was packing my bags. Its amazing what the eyes can see, open or closed ... getting it to the paper is another thing. I liked that piece, towards the mid-end it gets a little choppy for me, your edge not quite as smooth. Thanks for sharing, good group of people here, willing to read and share. You'll find much to read and do here.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
