I had a letter from my bank offering a special deal and being as my funs where low the offer did appeal
It said your credit rating’s up and so we’ve raised your credit limit strange I thought my statement read I had nothing in it
So I took the offer up and made the free phone call I could not believe my luck I could go and have a ball
They just lumped my debts together then put them on one card I only had one monthly payment that shouldn’t be to hard
Because I’d responded quickly they sent me a free clock it almost drove me mad with it flipping loud tick-tock
You see it just reminded me I was living life on tick I’d lay awake at night the worry made me sick
Then the payment day did dawn I emptied my purse to count I never had an option but to pay the least amount
I’ve done this now for five long years I can’t get out of trouble I only pay the interest so my debt has almost double
Then on sunning morning I have the lord to thank I had another special offer from another high street bank
It said transfer your debts to us have six months interest free I thought this might be my last chance to go on another spending spree
I weighed up all my options what had I got to lose? And the thought of another free gift which I even got to choose
So now I’ am in debt forever there are scores of people like me temptation is a terrible thing when you’re offered something for free!
