    Forever in our Heart

You are forever in our heart,
a little piece of heaven from the start.
Memories tucked away, pulled out to warm us
on a cold and dreary day.
Your great sense of humor is what I treasure most.
Your ability to turn anything into a chance
    for laughter to boast.
I wish you would have known the true value you had,
not your death, but that you never realized
is what makes me the most sad.
I sometimes long to hear you sing one last song,
your beautiful melodic voice rising and falling,
    never a note struck wrong.
You are forever in our heart,
never will our treasured memory of you from us part.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
