For today, for tomorrow, for eternity

                   The blue of the sky
                                                      is amazing
                           Azure, Baby, Cobalt
               so many variations.
                       Everywhere you look
                   a different hue.

                        The clouds
                                 white against
                   this backdrop
                                           Giant rolling waves
                               of vapor
                                     tiny thin puffs
                          of cotton
                                                          Sea meeting sky
                    Where does one end
                                        and another begin
                        The horizon
                                          incredibly
                                                Stretching as far
                               as the eye can see

                   Golden Sun
                           runways reflected
                                   by cascading waves
of sea, of sky, of clouds

                The coming sunset
                                             Mother Earth
                                     holds her breath
                               waiting to exhale
                        and extinguish
                                              brother sun
                                     for today
                                done
                    till tomorrow
                                 again
                                     to repeat
                                               age old patterns
         for today
                              for tomorrow
                                                           for eternity

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
