    FIRST AND LAST

A COBRA DANCING TO A STEADY TEMPO
    MORNING DEW RISING
AS THE GRASS BHEGINS TO GLOW
    A SMILE APPEARS
    TO A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT
    A TEAR THEN SEEN
    FROM PAIN NOT QUITE
    RAIN BEGINS TO FALL
AS THE MELODY BEGINS TO ROAR
    OUR VISIONS BEGINS TO SPIN
AS OCEANS WAVES RUSH TO THE SHORE
BUT STRANGE THE WATER IS -O- SO SWEET
    EYES BEGINS TO CLOSE
AS WE WILL REMAIN TO KNOW
THAT AT LAST WE ARE COMPLETE
LOVELY WORDS OF LOVE ARE PAST
    THEREFORE WE'VE CREATED
    A FIRST AND THY LAST

Getting beyond passion is important, but good peom.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
