Fighting Yourself

Fighting Yourself

When you fight yourself its’ an unsung war

You hate everyone, but you don’t know what for

Within your own self another there hides

Your feelings you think are not to confide

You set your mind on the road to destruction

Because you won’t see just what is the obstruction

You’re really not the person that you think you are

There’s much more to you than you realize by far

The flame inside burns a hot angry fire

You can’t accomplish what you most desire

You fight yourself all the way to the ground

But this fight you’re in, no winners are found

The friends that you’re with have no expectations

They jeopardize your life with their situations

Never stop trying there’s more than hope for you

But you must decide on the right things to do

You’ve lost everything and lost everyone

Turn around, go back to where you begun

You’re walking down a long, dead end road

You’re breaking all the rules and all the codes

You’re making yourself a prisoner of pain

Your life offers you, nothing to gain

This is the time of your life to be free

Please stop destroying the son God gave to me

I'm so sorry for your pain! Its never easy seeing someone you love throw away their life to drugs! As much as you want to help em.. sometimes they don't want the help! I know your pain on this matter! And I know it hurts you deeply! I willkeep u and your situation in my prayers! Angelface

thank you i have never had anyone make a comment on my poetry

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
