    Poem Commentary

Like to dedicate this poem to my dad...who had
alot of influence in my life.  My dad passed away
back in January of 1987...Still he was able to
read this poem I had written about him...before
he passed away.....and...my dad...liked this poem
that I had written about him.....

    ' Father "

    I was a daddy's little girl right
from the start, for you always knew
    what was in my heart.
You were always there for me.....
    patiently and loving.
Words of wisdom that you give,
wisdom is a gift that one gives.
    You were mild yet meek
    Your mission was to seek.
    Your eyes were rather bold
    For alot you had told.
The last dollar to your name you
    would give out....without any
    questions.....without any doubts.
You never once expected anything in
    return...this was a lesson you
    wanted everyone to learn.
A good friend you were to all
    You answered ..."God's Call"....
    My..."Hero"...you will forever be...
    for you are everything .."Precious".
    and..."Dear"...to me.
    I Love You Dad !

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
