Farewell beloved childhood!
Everytime, I say:" Tomorrow,
I shall have no trace of sorrow!
Everything that has just passed
Won't in my soul for long last."
But now thousands of thoughts leap,
Ignoring the time, go deep
Through the roots of childhood,
They maul my heart, mood by mood.
Leaving you, it makes me cry;
I still have to say "goodbye"
Oh, you sweet great stint of good,
Weren't you short, childhood?
Step by step, day after day,
I leave you behind in hay.
Next I am back to your core,
Then I want you more and more.
You're the root of all my life,
I call you, you take my strife,
Gaiety, when's less and less,
There you are, me to caress.
In my soul, I do admit,
Everyday, the life you lit.
But now, I'm with you all strewed:
Farewell sweet, dear childhood!
