Fall...into colors!!
As the early morning sun comes peeping through the window
warming my eyelids trying to get them to open
as I rub away my sleep and glimpse outside
watching a red leaf say goodbye
waving off in a crisscross way
floating down to rest upon its feet.
"Here comes fall…the beginning of colors
the beginning of autumn and goodbye to summer
Silencing the birds, the insects, the squirrels
asking them to migrate ; preparing to hibernate !!
It is the last hurray before winter
indeed the finest display of the year!
The pavements are covered with rainbow spreads
with ultraviolets ,stunning pinks and glorious reds
rustling as cars swoosh by
adding a tinge of color to the dull countryside!
As the days look sunnier and nights get colder
The length of time shortens and gets chillier.”
Today in the late afternoon sun, I see the colors ablaze
but tomorrow I may wake up and see them turn pale
A week or two of colors remain...
before they get rain washed, windswept and disappear again!
Thou the shortest of all
it’s the most splendor of all seasons
the yellow, the orange …..of poplars and birches
the oaks, the hickories punctuated with the reds of the maple
All together , whispering and singing
silenced at the beauty …awestruck by its audacity
closing….capturing it all in a glance
As I pen it down to share all at once
run out on words
soon before the season ends…
