Evergreen

The sunlight brushes my closed eyes
My dark lashes casting pale shadows on my cheeks
Sharp, brisk, warm, the air passes through my lungs
I stretch my arms as far as I can
Your wing brushing my fingertips
The sky is yours
What adventure will you lead now?
High in the air you shall fly
My heart is with yours
You are finally free
The perils are gone
The sky will shine
My fingertips reaching so high
Though they miss yours and are forgotten
'Carry on, little child' see the stars
Incased in light, your words will be
Clasped close to my heart
Forever the world is Evergreen

-For My Dear Aunt, you will live on in our hearts

This is a beautiful piece. I like your view of this subject- 10 from me

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
