EMPTY PROMISES
Empty promises they make, only made to sound good.
With no intentions to keep, even if they could.
Let your yea be yea, your nay be nay.
Say what you mean, mean what you say.
If man is only, as good as his word,
Can you count on your fingers, how many good men you have heard.
I'm not here to judge the world,
of it's wrongs.
You'll know a tree by the fruit it bares,
and where it belongs.
Like a log on a fire, we all burn with desire.
Truth is what we need, so sow another seed.
It rains on the just, and on the un-just too, watering me, watering you.
And you know we need the Son to grow, yes this is true, so be true in all you do.
Swear not on heaven, or anything on earth, not on your life, or your babies birth.
Lies aren't white, nor are they right, if you do you're not living, in the Light.
Be better to say, nothing at all, for the lies of darkness will fall.
The Truth will set you free, yes free in deed, it's food for the spirit, will you feed. Words cannot be taken back, after spoken, a promise not made, cannot be broken.
