    Downtime

    A family night
    nothing overly special
    spagetti and a movie
    but everyone together

    lots of joking and kidding
    and messing around
    some popcorn and pop
    and theather surround sound

    wholesome fun
    a family, not one
    our fortress in the wilderness
made for four, sometimes a mess
    but our island

    pets are here
    kids are too
    share the couch
    and blanket too

    spending time
    not marking pace
    sharing our thoughts
a step out of the the rat race

    slower time
    sit and unwind
    contemplate the day
    relax and play
    be yourself
    put work on the shelf
and enjoy the fruits of your labor

    A family

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
