depression branching...

depression branching...

I've come to a realization to-day,
Life comes at you with no notice at all.
One day it's perfect, the next it's away,
Sadness you can temporarily stall...
Depression quickly growing like a tree...
Going to school with a mask on my face,
Disappointing how few people can see...
Amazed by the dancers who have such grace.
Extremely confused by a silly crush,
Second place is worse than being dead last
Trying to control tears ready to rush
Asking that question was stupid but past
I suppose I really ought to just shush
I've not been this sad in almost a year
There is no escape from depression near...♥

I know about depression - after Hurricane Katrina it took hold of me and has not let go yet - it was my inspriation and fuel to write - maybe it can be yours too

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
