DELIVERED

ON ONE DARK AND CLOUDY DAY, I FELT LIKE GOING AWAY TO LEAVE THIS WORLD OF TROUBLE AND STRIFE AND TO LEAVE SUCH A BITTER.
THEN I THOUGHT ABOUT GOD AND HOW GOOD HE HAD BEEN TO ME SO I WENT ASKED A MINISTER HOW COULD I BE SET FREE.
HE SAID YOU NEED PRAYER MY CHILD SO WE SAT AND PRAYED AWHILE.
HE TOLD ME HOW GOD HAD DIED FOR ME AND SHED HIS BLOOD ON CALVERY
NOW I FEEL GOD ALL IN MY HEART, ALL SAFE STRONG AND FREE.
THANK YOU DEAR LORD FOR SAVING A SINNER LIKE ME.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
