    DANCE

I hear music ever so often, playing in my ear
That music makes my fingers, rap-pa-tap out the beat
Then suddenly my movement changes to both of my feet
Body swaying to and fro without a single care.
Soft and gentle music I listen to and smile
That music makes my heart, gasp in utter ecstasy
Quite calm and soothing hypnotized all the while
I close my eyes to see, my perfect fantasy.
Dancing in my head to all my melodic tunes
That music makes my soul, reach heights its never gone.
Twirling all around me lifting like balloons
My spirit just keeps dancing like a graceful swan.
Suddenly another tune plays loudly in my head
That music makes my head, bob up and down
Yes to all the joyfulness upon the paths I tread
At last, to dance again without a single frown.

    emotions......................................................................................

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
