    Daddy

    Daddy,

You are my Sunshine when it rains

                You  ARE my Summer Rain.........

You turn my gray skies to beautiful
hues of Indigo, Violets and Blues.......

You are the touch that makes
            my sadness melt away.

You are the one who rocks me,
lets me know Love is here to stay.....

You are my Protector, my Guide
you love me even when I LIE.

You are my light in the darkness,
these words you encourage me to write.

You are the givers of swats, that brought
loving cherry red hot to my precious buttocks!

You are the Punisher, the pain.
you are the hope that runs through my veins.....

                   You are my Summer Rain.....

                     I LOVE YOU DADDY!

Never mind the rain, the pain, the hues, the rocking,
the protecting, the guiding, the light, the darkness,
the courage, to wright!, the bright cherry red butt!

I declare to hold myself true and stead fast!
to refrain from tergiversate, equivocate, prevaricating!!

            YOU     ARE    MY    SUMMER    RAIN

I really liked this poem. I lost my dad when I was sixteen so I really never got a chance to get to know him. Happiness come of the capacity to feel deeply, to enjoy simply, to be needed. Very nicely done. I hope you write more.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
