    Daddy

    Silently waiting,
    My face against the floor,
    Sweating and anticipaiting,
His beating I'd take once more.
The love I had for him was strong,
Respect for him? I had none,
I think of how he had done me wrong,
And said, "This time I am done."
Although I had said that before,
    I planned to get away,
I was packed and walking out the door,
But something was in my way.
Standing there with a loaded gun,
I saw a tear role down his face,
He said I'm sorry for the pain I caused you,
    My heart began to pace,
I didnt know what else to do,
I closed my eyes and took a breath,
I thought this was the end for me,
He ended my pain with his death,
And now my eyes could see.

Oh the depths of what you just penned. It kind of felt like I was there watching actually go through with it. Great stuff. Keep it up.

Absolutely staggering! I was totally caught up in this one I savored every line until I tasted the tangy slightly salty flavor of fear creep up the back of my throat! WOW!
