Crucifixion

Crucifixion

Smudges on my glasses distort what I see.
Would I see the masses without the smear?
Is my reality yours? Your reality mine?
Truth to score: is there any?

All truth is God's truth as long as
it is the truth I decided would
be the right truth for God.

Trust me.

I wouldn't trust you!

Rob him of his words.
Pick what is his truth.
Bells ring for his judgement.
Somebody grab his cross!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
