Creation from above

Creation from above

out of darkness, the void all around.
the vastness nothing to be found.
I shot an arrow ,that went so high, and so far.
it left a river of sparks, I named them stars.
I grabbed a hand full ,and ground them so tight.
it made a round ball, I called it light.
as i wondered, and had a little fun.
I placed it in the corner, and called it the sun.
as a few million cooled, each one so unique.
I scattered them all they looked all mystic
I called them planets ,and named them as such .
each one, I gave them character ,with a pinch and a touch.
I made hills, and valleys, so deep and so wide.
I made oceans ,and craters ,as to separate and divide.
planted trees, and flowers, and grasses, so green .
an amazement, a wonder a beauty to be seen .
created fishes, and animals ,so they can wonder about.
can you see now, what I'm talking about .
Made many birds, out of joy, and love.
they're just one of the creations from above.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
