Cosmic

Where?

A billion billion miles near.

There.

Me and my heart’s desire waltzed with quasars.

To the melody of metallic debris,

Colliding in the belly of revolving black holes.

Clung tightly to each other,

From the fear,

We’d fall.

Penetrating nebulas.

Only to emerge with moist flesh.

Like dew drops on morning breaths.

Retreating to a familiar feeling,

Traced back to eons ago,

To a place,

Only the desires of my heart know

And go.

Questioning whether to return again,

To a world of nightmares,

From our reality within a dream.

I wrote this poem for you and me.

So every word is a falling star.

To full of pride to destroy itself.

Flew from afar for nothing else,

But to be yours.

With the punctuation,

Being the gravitational force,

That holds it all together,

To an always been,

Right before never.

Not for a volatile end,

But to a peaceful rest.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
